The Fascia, connective tissue.

(This is an excerpt of one of the Lessons in my Program “Glowing You” which ran in 2019-2020. The lesson then continued with three movement explorations to “get in touch” with the fascia tissue through movement and imagination).

Fascia

Fascia is another name for the Connective Tissue (CT).

It is a special Tissue. It is everywhere and it connects everything in our body.

It’s not just a bunch of disorganized net but a well-organized net with different layers.

If we would take off all the organs, skeletal-muscular system, cardiovascular system, and so on, we would still have the shape of our body.

So it gives us the shape, and its shape is influenced by many conditions such as movement, water, eating, thoughts (yes, also them..😉), habits, culture, and the system in which we live in general.

Fascia is helping us in supporting and creating communication in our body and it gives also information about how well we are, and how good we are at taking care of ourselves.

Many times the pains that we have can be related to a shrink of the CT or more in general to an unwell CT.

As Dr. Helen Langevin is saying, during the stretching, we include not only our muscles...but also another tissue is part of it. The Connective Tissue. CT.

Every little fiber muscle is surrounded by connective tissue and bunches of fibers are surrounded by the CT and the muscle itself is also surrounded by the CT. So the whole muscle is in an envelope of a multidimensional tube of CT. It distributes the force of the muscle to the nearby muscles and then to the tendons, bones, and so on.

CT surrounds every other part of the body: it is around the circulatory and lymphatic system and inside and around all our organs and also around the nervous system.

It creates a real Net that creates support and communication throughout (and inside-out) our body.

We can say that our head is REALLY connected to the toe of our foot.

This CT a.k.a. Fascia is what makes us a whole, ONE.

This week we will work on this “Oneness”.

Nothing weird, nothing “woo woo”, this is science and is how we are made,

This is Us, This is You! Let’s find this fascia 😊

As always I suggest You that you take your time to go into this exploration, with gentleness and take care of yourself.

This week - 28.06.2022 - I propose you a movement practice using Fascia. You can check it on my FB page or on my YouTube channel:
